Introduction

DORI LLC (“Dori,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Dori mobile application (the “App”), which provides branded loyalty and community experiences for independent coffee shops. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use the App.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Account registration: name, email address, and profile photo (optional)
  • Referral activity: referral codes you share or redeem
  • Check-ins and community board interactions you choose to post
  • Support communications you send to us

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device identifiers and operating system version
  • App usage data: features accessed, screens viewed, session duration
  • General location data (city/region level) if you enable location permissions — used only to surface your nearby participating coffee shop
  • Crash reports and performance diagnostics

Information from Point-of-Sale Systems

When a coffee shop you visit uses Dori, their point-of-sale (POS) system (e.g., Square) shares transaction data with us on behalf of the shop. This includes:

  • Purchase timestamps and order totals
  • Loyalty points earned and redeemed
  • Visit frequency

This data is collected and processed on behalf of the participating coffee shop. The shop operator is considered a data controller for their customer data; Dori acts as a data processor on their behalf.

Social and Referral Graph Data

If you use referral or social features (such as Meet Points or Check-In), we may collect:

  • Referral relationships: who referred whom (linked to first qualifying purchase)
  • Anonymized co-presence data for Meet Points (whether two users visited the same shop on the same day)

We do not build or maintain a full social graph. We do not access your contacts, track your location continuously, or enable user-to-user messaging.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and personalize your loyalty experience at participating coffee shops
  • To calculate and credit loyalty points and rewards
  • To process referral rewards when qualifying conditions are met
  • To display community board content and check-in activity within the App
  • To send you push notifications about your loyalty status, rewards, or shop announcements (you may opt out at any time)
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To improve the App through aggregated, anonymized analytics
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your personal data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

How We Share Your Information

With Participating Coffee Shop Operators

The coffee shop whose app you are using can access data about their own customers — including visit history, loyalty balances, and engagement with their community board. They cannot access data about customers of other shops.

With Service Providers

We work with third-party vendors who help us operate the App (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, push notifications). These vendors are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

With POS Integration Partners

We exchange transaction data with authorized POS providers (currently Square) as required to operate the loyalty program. This exchange is governed by those providers' data agreements.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety and rights of our users or the public.

Data Retention

We retain your account and loyalty data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud prevention.

Your Choices and Rights

All Users

  • Access or update your account information in the App settings
  • Delete your account at any time via App settings or by contacting us
  • Opt out of push notifications via your device settings

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how it is used; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable precautions.

Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to the coffee shop's external website or social media. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party properties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance.
